Well, in putting together a new Contract from America, tea party members are promoting zero-based budgeting on the federal level.

This proposal, which would require the justification of every expenditure, is the same policy that both Shapiro and Richards are touting for use on the county level.

Wonder whether this proposal is just another one of those “angry principles”?

Republican county controller candidate Stewart J. Greenleaf Jr. appears to be a quality candidate for elected office.

A lawyer from Upper Moreland, Greenleaf is young and fresh to the county political scene; he comes across as energetic, articulate and intelligent.

However, I just can’t help wondering whether the GOP slotted him for the right row office post.

Greenleaf is a member of the same law firm that has Republican incumbent County Commissioner Bruce L. Castor Jr. on board and Castor, as a director and shareholder in that firm, is much higher up on the firm’s food chain than Greenleaf, who is an associate.
